Vehicle Tracking on the Internet - Route Map Display
This page demonstrates how to access and review vehicle activity using the ‘route map’ option. To try this out for yourself, telephone 0870 013 6663 or e-mail enquiries@quartix.net for demonstration password details.
The screen below shows part of a journey for one of our demonstration vehicles. the top right of the screen shows that this is trip 3 of 9 completed on that day ((4th February 2005). The 'tape recorder' style buttons above the map allow you to step through each of the trips of the day (which are marked by the ignition being turned on or off) and the system will select a map scale to display the whole route. In this case the 'zoom in' button has been used to display only the last part of a trip (please see further down the page also).
A series of yellow symbols shows the route taken. When the mouse is held over any of these symbols, speed and time information are displayed
Clicking once on any of the yellow dots or arrows takes you directly to a detailed level street map showing the vehicle’s position at that time
The blue arrows around the map display allow you to move from page to page.
You can access this information from any PC - no special software or maps are required. Everything is loaded in real time.
Viewing the route on Different Map Scales
The example below shows sections of trip number three from the same vehicle log at different scales. These scales can be accessed either by using the zoom in button or by clicking directly on one of the waypoint markers on the route. The window at the top shows the entire trip, on a national-scale map.
