Quartix customers win even when they lose

Vehicle thieves can strike at any time, but Quartix customers have been getting their wheels back on the road ASAP. In the process they’ve been finding that quick recovery of a stolen vehicle can save a lot of time, trouble and money.
When a Renault Master van was stolen from Homewarm of Maidstone, it could easily have disappeared for good – disguised and sold by criminals. Instead, as soon as the driver reported the theft, the van was pinpointed. Although it had been moved only a few miles, it was stashed out of sight in a field near the M2. Not only were the vehicle’s contents recovered intact, but even allowing for forensic examination and some damage repair, it was soon back in service.
Tony Clayton of Clayton Facilities Management had a similar experience. “It was brilliant the way it worked”, he commented, “…if you can say that about having your van stolen! When the theft was discovered first thing in the morning we traced the van, over 50 miles away. It was back with us by midday. Our insurers were very favourably impressed and, in fact, we didn’t even have to make a claim on the vehicle. We were spared the hassle of sorting out insurance, sourcing a new van and hiring another in the meantime. We couldn’t have done it without the Quartix tracking.”
Abandoned vehicles are always prone to further theft and vandalism, so prompt recovery is paramount. Tyreline of Daventry’s 18 tonne truck would have been hard to find if they’d had to go searching for it, even though it was just a few miles away. As it was, they quickly pinpointed it and had it back within hours. Thieves also struck A&M Insulations of St Helens in broad daylight. Staff went straight to where the 3 tonne van had been left by the roadside to secure it. As Jason Mansfield put it: “We were able to call the police and say that our van had been stolen – but that we knew where it was. They seemed quite taken aback by this course of events!”
This is one benefit of tracking that Quartix customers hope they’ll never have to take advantage of. However, as many have discovered, it’s one that can really pay dividends if it’s called for.
